Working at Height Awareness for Construction Workers

This short, practical course introduces the essential principles of working safely at height on UK construction sites. Learners will understand what working at height means, why falls happen and how to apply the hierarchy of control: avoid work at height, prevent falls and minimise the consequences where risks remain. The course covers planning, ladders and stepladders, scaffolds, tower scaffolds, MEWPs, roof work, fragile surfaces, floor openings, edge protection, personal fall protection, falling objects, emergency arrangements and worker responsibilities. Realistic construction scenarios, safe and unsafe comparisons, visual activities and practical knowledge checks help learners recognise hazards and make safer decisions on site. This is an awareness-level course. It does not replace task-specific training, competence assessment, risk assessments, method statements, manufacturer instructions or specialist training.
